Continuing Legal Education
The Academy’s Deans, Professor Michael Hutter, Daniel Santola, David Paul Horowitz and Benedene Cannata, work to provide highly-acclaimed and fully-accredited CLE programs presented by outstanding law school professors and trial lawyers.
As a truly statewide bar association, the Academy strives to present each CLE in every corner of the state. Most programs are held in at least six locations: Albany, Buffalo, Long Island, New York City, Rochester and Syracuse.
Past Academy CLEs, all of which are free for Academy members, have included: our Annual Update course covering recent cases and statutes of interest to tort practitioners, Advanced Professional Ethics, Doctors and Their Records at Trial, Admissibility of Electronic Evidence, Proving Damages at Trial, and more.
Per the New Jersey CLE Board, CLE credits earned in New York State will satisfy CLE requirements in New Jersey. Please click here for more information.

*A Note About Program Materials:
In an effort to curb printing costs (so that we may continuing to offer FREE live CLE for Academy members) the Academy provides written CLE materials to attendees in two formats: on CD (at no charge) and/or in print (for the cost of printing). In addition, the Academy e-mails all pre-registered attendees a pdf copy of the materials in advance of our programs so that they may choose to print the materials on their own at no additional charge. Thank you for your understanding as we strive to meet the needs of our CLE attendees while also being environmentally conscious and keeping our administrative overhead to a minimum.
We will continue to deliver on our promise of free high-quality CLE for Academy members. Should a non-member CLE attendee later wish to join as an Academy member, the cost of the CLE (typically $100 for non-members) will be applied toward their initial membership dues.
